Shadybowl Speedway's Opener was a great success. There was a good crowd of fans for the Stealth Trailers Street Stocks, powered by Jegs Triple Crown Door Buster 200. There were 30 street stocks from three states.
Last year's winner of the Door Buster 2014 Triple Crown, and 2014 CRA Street Stock champion Josh Poore was back to defend his title. There was also several fathers and son duos, like Jeff Lane and his son Colby and Jimmy Kirby and his son James . There were other championship drivers from Mount Lawn Speedway, Anderson Speedway, Bear Field Speedway and Shadybowl Speedway, all trying to win 200 lap race tonight.
There are several rookies in the field Ryan Hamilton who has never been in a stock car before and Gordon Watson who will be in his first street stock race.
There are many drivers with years of experience racing in other divisions and other series and tracks.
The first 100 laps of the race was Josh Poore pressuring Ryan Amonett for the lead.
When the race restarted after the break is when everything changed. Ryan had battery problems and Josh was riding on worn out tires. The end of the race came down to young driver Colby Lane and veteran driver Jason Atkinson. Jason pressured Colby through traffic for fifteen laps, but Cobly held on for the win.
